Yes, The US Postal Service Is Broke

Propaganda: The US Postal Service is not broke! It’s all smoke and mirrors from Republicans! They’re just trying to break the unions!

The US Postal Service is not only broke, they’re seriously broke.

  • In 2013, the USPS lost over $5 Billion dollars
  • In 2012, the USPS lost over $16 Billion dollars
  • In the first quarter of 2014, the USPS lost over $354 Million dollars

When you’re losing billions and millions of dollars you’re broke, right?

Not so fast.

The Left says you can’t count promised retiree benefits. Those things you promised to pay retirees. Those things you’ll have to pay. ┬áThat you can’t count. Union benefits and pensions – those you can’t count.

The Postmaster General of the USPS pleaded with Congress for help in avoiding bankruptcy. Apparently, he doesn’t suffer the same delusion as progressives.

The only way the USPS can survive is to be privatized. Privatization will devastate the United Postal Services Union.

Put simply, Democrats are willing to waste billions of your tax dollars to prop up a union that cannot operate a business that can break even.

The USPS is not only broke, it’s terminally broke. And it cannot be fixed. The only questions are: how quickly will we turn it over to the free market and how many tax dollars will we bleed until we do?
