No, 97% of Scientists Do Not Believe in Global Warming

Propaganda: Over 97% of scientists surveyed believe Global Warming is happening and is man-made! 97%! The science is settled! jerusalem-palm-tre_2448489k

This piece of propaganda comes from a 2009 American Geophysical Union (AGU) survey. It’s also referred to as the Doran Survey or Zimmerman Thesis. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The “survey” was a two-minute, two-question, online questionnaire sent to 10,257 scientists by two researchers at the University of Illinois.
  • Only 3,146 earth scientists responded.
  • Of the 3,146 who responded, 2,833 were from the US (90%) and 313 were from 22 other countries (10%).
  • Of the 313 (10%) from other countries, 62% were from Canada.
  • 9% of  of the 3,146 who responded were from California.

Here’s where it gets fun:

  • The researchers then cherry-picked 77 of the 3,146 who responded and labeled them “experts”.
  • Of those 77 “experts”, 75 ( 97.4%) agreed with man-made Global Warming. Surprise!

Here is a graph from the actual survey:

The AGU survey has been widely mocked and criticized by the scientific community, most notably by the respondents to the original survey. In fact, the survey has an appendix of feedback from the respondents. Here are some of the more amusing ones:

..I’m not sure what you are trying to prove, but you will undoubtably be able to prove your pre-existing opinion with this survey! I’m sorry I even started it!..

..The “hockey stick” graph that the IPCC so touted has, it is my understanding, been debunked as junk science.

..scientific issues cannot be decided by a vote of scientists. A consensus is not, at any given time, a good predictor of where the truth actually resides..

..Science is not based on votes or consensus. Irrelevant question. Besides, which scientists do you regard as relevant?..

..Science is based on scepticism and experimental proof. Whereas human GHG emissions certainly have a warming effect, the breakdown between natural and anthropogenic contributions to warming is poorly constrained..

Global Warming Theory rests on this one contention: That man-made CO2 is heating up the atmosphere and warming the planet.

Leaving aside the fact that the planet has not warmed in over 17 years, it is a scientific fact that there is no correlation between CO2 in the atmosphere and warming of the planet.

Theory crushed.

The founder of Greenpeace, one of the world’s leading environmental groups, recently testified the theory is bunk. And one of the World’s leading Climate Change Scientists recently threw in the towel and admitted it’s all nonsense.

So why all the Global Warming hysteria? The “Believers” fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • The Gullible, who believe anything they see on the “news” and who are too lazy to research the facts for themselves,
  • The Governments, who can oppressively further tax corporations if they can make you believe it,
  • The Anti-Capitalists, who hate anyone who makes a profit and would love to punish corporations, just because…,
  • And The Climate Scientists, who stand to make a lot of money getting government grants (your tax monies) “studying” this fearful “threat to humanity”.

There is so much scientific proof that Global Warming is not man-made that I won’t bore you by regurgitating it all here. But if you want to research more, this is a good place to start: The Climate Depot.

Of course, you can always ignore all of the above and go with our Secretary of State’s claim that Global Warming is a Weapon of Mass Destruction.

I prefer to believe the greatest WMD is ignorance. Sorry, John Kerry.

  1. […] Donar and Zimmerman study is statistically worthless. […]

ha ho yes funny ok already i do understand you do not have to create a site to make such fun of idiots

    1. But it’s so much fun 🙂

  3. Reblogged this on MoralNorth.

  4. […] Wow, good point. Except that’s not true either, as I prove in No, 97% Of Scientists Do Not Believe In Global Warming. […]

  5. We’ve warmed, we’ve cooled. It’s been drier, it’s been wetter. It’s been windy, the wind has been still. Must be “climate change”.

This statement would have been true if written by a caveman, a Spartan or me last week describing the weather outside my house. It’s OK if we are just not sure. Before we damage our economy with what seems to be a guess, let’s not.

I’m sure at some point there was a scientific survey that the world was flat and 97% of scientists agreed it was.
